My husband, friends and I enjoy our time even during the off season at this wonderful hide away! Its still very clean with reasonable prices. We enjoy the daily specials. Valley View 12/29/2009 Confused Can anyone tell me if this place is any good? I checked the website and it said to "Be prepared to order something else because the specials run out"? I know what a beer tastes like but I'm confused about eating there...it seemed that someone posted a positive comment after every negative one??? Nick Vorheise from solon 8/31/2009 Wonderful My husband and I have been to Tinkers Creek several times. Each time we have had a tasty meal. We have eaten inside and out - and, enjoyed our views, and the staff. It is pricey, but, you get what you pay for - the flat iron steak - great. Sea bass was flakey and tasted wonderful! Can not believe anyone would have a bad meal here! Northfield Township 8/11/2009 Great! Very nice & clean! Our food was really fantastic for the prices charged. We were there when it was very busy, & the staff did well. What a patio! No wonder its listed as one of Cleveland's best! Ellen S from Valley View 6/20/2009 Very disappointing I dined here on 5/31/2009, and it was THE WORST experience I have had in many years. Where to begin, we had a table of 8, arrived half hour after opening, so it was not yet busy. Hour and a half for MOST of the food to arrive, longer for our last two steaks. When we asked why it was taking so long, I was told by our rude waiter that he isn’t the chef, how should he know! I almost fell over! Gee I hate to be a pain….but it had been an hour and a HALF! It never improved from there, and NO MANAGER to voice a complaint. Very unprofessional. And did I mention the RUDE server??? WOW what an experience Mike from Brunswick 6/15/2009 Mediocre I took my mother and several guests to Tinker's Creek tavern for Mother's Day. We were all very disappointed. The hostess failed to inform us that a "special" (i.e. limited) menu was in effect for the day and in spite of having a room that was 75% empty, seated our table of 5 at a table for 4 with an ugly view of a heat pump and some rocks. Our server was average at best. The food was mediocre. My husband's salmon was dry and cold. The chicken on my salad was dry and not freshly grilled. My mother's risotto was gummy and lukewarm. Mixed drinks were watery. The server indulged himself by adding a 20% gratuity to the bill although the written policy was that a 20% gratuity was automatically added for tables of 6. We were only a table of 5. The room was undermanned and poorly managed. For the higher prices charged, one is entitled to expect good food and above average service. In a nutshell, this is an overpriced, mediocre restaurant that I will not patronize again. Anonymous 5/10/2009 Best Yet This is the best chef and menu they have had yet! Im glad they kept searching! The weekend specials are very good too. Keep trying to eat on the patio but it fills up fast. Might have to go for early dinner or a lunch. I will be back! Cleveland 5/2/2009 Bad Experience We had a terrible meal at this restaurant last weekend. We waited an hour and fifteen minutes for our food (two sandwiches) and it arrived barely warm. The meat inside was burnt and it tasted terrible. We mentioned it to our waitress but she didn't seem to care. She said they've gone through 3 chefs now since opening. We paid $50 for a lousy meal! Cleveland 4/28/2009 Great place Wonderful decor and the food is great. So many different specials and we have never been disappointed. The patio is amazing. To take a place that was rundown and create such a unique restaurant is great. I tell everyone I know not to pass this quaint place up! Cindy Rose from Medina 1/29/2009 Great place for dinner My wife and I went there last night. The entire staff was friendly and efficient. The food was very good and reasonably priced. I cant wait for the warmer weather so that we can take advantage of the patio. Anonymous 12/7/2008 New and Amazing I have been to Tinker's Creek Road Tavern about three or four times in the past year and I love it more every time I return. I just took my husband and college student daughter to dinner there last Saturday. Tinker's has a new chef and an entire updated menu that is just amazing! They kept many of their best dishes but added many that in my opinion are even better. I loved everything from the mashed sweet potatoes, to my Daughter's sea bass she ordered. The food was so amazing we all shared our dishes with one another. For dessert we treated ourselves to the delicious crème Brule. Our server Troy was great! He helped us as much as we wanted, but not more then he needed. He answered many questions about the new menu and turned a once anxious feeling into exciting. Thanks Tinkers Creek! We'll be back for sure! Susan Jordan from Independence 11/26/2008 Excellent I stopped here several times, from sandwiches, to the steak and veal, it was excellent. The atmosphere on the patio is exceptional and the inside dining are is clean, and beautiful. From the waitresses, to the hostess, the service was great. Even though they were busy, they kept our party of four taken care of. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good value, and atmosphere. Kent 8/18/2008 Bad Service/Bad Food I read a food review for the Tinkers Creek Road Tavern on July 25, 2008. The review very much piqued my interest due to the location and the chance to dine at a very interesting establishment. I did dine at the Tinkers Creek Road Tavern on July 26, 2008. A small group of friends and I met up there to eat on Saturday night. I ordered the Salmon that was on the review as did one of my other friends. I also ordered a house salad that had a very watery blue cheese dressing. Tinkers Creek did not have a wide variety of salad dressings nor do they have a healthier option such as balsamic vinaigrette. One of my friends ordered chicken which she really enjoyed. My salmon was very dry & flavorless. The shrimp was unflavored and did seem as if it was just an afterthought. It did not have any juice from the fish nor did it have any apparent seasoning. The other friend of mine had the Salmon dish at as well. His salmon did have liquid but both appeared to have been cooked on a George Forman Grill & had a layer of brown crust as if it had been burnt. The service was very lack luster. I had ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc that was $6.00 a glass. The server stated that they were out of it and that they had another for $8.00 a glass. The menu had one for $7.00 a glass which I chose. Near the tail end of our meal our service announced that she was going home early due to having the flu and that she would have us cash out. If we wanted to order anything else we would need to open up a new tab. This was inconvenient but understandable under the circumstances. It seemed as if things were very chaotic. The new server did bring me a second glass of wine but did not come back with the bill. It was very difficult to even get a glass of water! Due to the long wait I left cash on the table for the drink. I will say that the Hostess did come by earlier in the dining experience to showcase the deserts. We never did have an opportunity to order desert though. Due to the experience I honestly would not recommend that anyone go to the Tinkers Creek Road Tavern. It may be a nice place to have a drink outside or desert but with the lack of food quality and disregard for customers I will not be returning there. Jeffrey Romito from Willoughby Hills 7/29/2008 Pleasant Surprise We stopped in for a bite after playing golf, and were pleasantly surprised by the charming ambience of this historic building. The menu offers a wonderful variety, not the normal fare. The food and service were great. We are already planning our return visit. Barbara Martin from Elyria 7/23/2008 Secret Valley hide away WOW, Great Patio right on the Creek! The place has gone from eyesore to one of the Valleys best assets! All our food has been super, affordable prices, We tried the house smoked BBQ this past weekend- Yummy! Valley View 5/16/2008 Great Restaurant My husband and I were there with 8 of our friends on a Saturday night and had a wonderful experience. The service was great, the atmosphere was great, and most of all the food was great. Will definitely be back. Dawn BonTempo from Macedonia 2/19/2008 Wow Super place Incredible, clean place. Beautifull carved bar. Hard to believe it was so rundown its pevious 100+ year old life. Fabulous views of the creek. An alternative to Treamont for fantastic food!It Has to be one of the best patios in the city, can not wait for warm weather- very nice service too! Our table ordered vennison, lamb a burger, crab cakes- all super! Valley View 2/19/2008 Pleasant Experience Good food, nice atmosphere and good service at a reasonable price. A great alternative to the chain restaurants. Anonymous 2/18/2008 Great Place 2/16/08 We had a party of 10 and were seated by the window with a great view. From the cocktails to dessert the meal was great. There was a varity of entree's at our table and no complaints from anyone. The service was done with a smile. We will be back again for sure. kim from Northfield 2/17/2008 Great Place! great place for dinner, drinks and meeting friends. food & prices awesome our service was great at the bar and for dinner. had the duck special, and the lamb. will be back soon!
