Sat for a long time and was completely ignored. Tried to get served but was unable. Finally gave up and left. Fairview Park 11/9/2011 Boneyard It has been a few years since that security guard Talun and Mr Monday told local Clevelanders and CNN that The Boneyard was a racist operation. I wanted to thank those Men again and say they are not forgotten. The stood up for a race not there own. I always wished that Carl and Mr Talun would work together again. The Boneyard is run by Evil men. Do not go there! My son was thrown out for wearing his hat backwards. He told me momma the only man that came to my aid was the security guard named Talun. I never forgot how kindly and with respect he treated my boy. The Bonyard Fired him for helping our race. Shame on you Boneyard. I was sick awhile back and I asked to see one person and my son found him on facebook. He came to my bedside and I held his hand and said God Bless you and Mr Monday. I hope they close the BoneYard down for many reasons that this forum will not allow me to say. Love to my boys, Talun and Carl always. Mrs, Sandy Parks Sandy Parks from Beachwood 1/27/2011 RACIST ESTABLISHMENT Of course I'd heard about the numerous complaints and accusations made about BoneYard over the years. Though I went there hopeful that this had be addressed and corrected. I was there last Saturday night and in the current day and age I was never so shocked by the treatment that a few friends of mine and I experienced. We are all established responsible adults who don't go out causing trouble. While sitting at the Bar,waiting on the band to play, we ordered food and drinks from the most rude wait staff I've ever experienced. The absolute worst was the so called manager. They ignored us as we tried to get their attention, constantly rolled their eyes, slinging our drinks at us and reacted as if we were bothering them. We were there to join a friend for her birthday and see the band. Then, after paying for a bill that was well over $100 dollars, we asked for a glass of water and the manager said a flat out no. Got into a head to told shouting fit, telling us to use the fountain by the bathroom. The bottom line is that my friend and I are black, we noticed the difference in how all the other customers around us were being treated better. The waitresses were acting demeaning toward us because we are black. It was disgusting and a complete disgrace. It's a shame that a business in this day and age condones and allows overtly or covertly racists people to work for them and treat their patrons who spend their hard earned money just like anyone else to be treate any less. SHAME on THE BONEYARD!!! YOU WILL NEVER SEE ONE CENT OF MY MONEY EVER AGAIN!!! Lori Woods from Shaker Heights 8/5/2010 Wow Well I just went in there to see how it been doing I have been there in a while and I wanted to see if Razor was working he is this nice helpful game room person once I went in there it was ok kinda slow but it is understandable but when I ask he is working working they told me he no longer work there cause the mangers didn't like him it that is true wow that is sad he was so very nice to me and my family and that is why we always went so I hope someone from the boneyard reads this and brings back razor thanks Tony Anonymous 3/26/2010 had a great time I was hesitant to come here due to the negative reviews I saw on this site when I googled the place but my friends wanted to so I came along. Called ahead about the dress code and they said I didn't need to worry about it so I guess they don't have one anymore?? I had low expectations but ended up being really pleasantly surprised; we went on a Wednesday and although it was busy we got served quickly. I had the Boneyard burger and it was definitely the best burger I've had in a long time it was loaded with an onion ring and some kind of amazing special sauce on the side. i guess these reviews must all be old because i talked with my server about them and they said there was new management and when i told her i'd never been to the boneyard before she told her manager who stopped by and thanked me for coming. i didn't play any games so i can't comment on those but i'm going to be back with the kids so i can have a christmas ale while they go have fun in the game room. all in all it cost me $20 including tip for a burger and three beers and it was money well spent Cleveland 11/5/2009 Little, less, and none... Little, less, and practically no class at all, would accurately describe the "Boneyard" and it's staff. One of my business associates while visiting with a party of four, was told that he could not wear a dress hat into this joint. He was wearing a suit, tie, trench coat and a dress hat accordingly. He was told that after a certain time only baseball caps were allowed. The fact that it was raining outside not withstanding! Ignorance must be a precursor for employment here? Saying that, to say who, or what level of intelligence does the hiring at this joint? Columbus 12/11/2008 OK bar Well im not exactly picky, dont even know why im typing this review to be honest but its a decent local place to hang with friends and drink the $2 monthly special beer while a live band plays on weekends. One compaint, they need to fix the busted tv screens above the pissers haha. Ryan B. from South Euclid 8/12/2008 Awesome place, and I will keep going I don't care if I had to wait an hour for my dinner I love the place. Dinner, drinks, games were all good. One problem I do have my favorite wait staff and bartenders though, other than that...love it all. However I went on a Friday night thinking it would be packed but to my surprise it wasn't. Saturday nights are a better night full of people and a great way to spend a night out with friends to relax and have a good time. I was there on night when they were hosting a bachelor, and bachelorette party too so I figured it would be a wait, I was totally wrong still fast service and hot food. So, from me no complaints. Atlas I love the dress code policy too...come on it's just jeans not like you need to be all dressed up. Middlefield 7/21/2008 3rd Rate Dave & Busters I had heard great things about this place on the radio, so I figured my fiance and I would give it a try. We just went to play games and it was a joke. Some of the games were broken and the place was disgustingly dirty. The worst thing of all was the crappy prizes they give away. I actually think I saw dust on some of them. Don't waste your time. Anonymous 2/3/2008 Dress Code I think it is reasonable to not allow people to enter wearing sweatpants in the evening. I don't really like their hat policy however. I came in on a sunday after noon to watch the browns play. It was snowing out and cold. I had a Browns winter hat on and was told to remove it. I believe hats can only been worn forward also. Whats the difference? You have a full arcade. A hat is going to drive away good customers. Come on. It reminds me of a snobby Chucky Cheese. Bob Sackamano from Highland Hts. 1/20/2008 What's up with the staff? I got a group of 30 police and firefighters together to party at the Boneyard. When we get seated, I'm looking around for the regular employees, and can't find the top security guy, Mike. I asked a dozen workers what's going on. Apparently, management has decided to cut staff that are loyal, dedicated, and connected. Good luck keeping that crowd on the straight and narrow with 20 year olds running the door. What kind of clientelle is the Boneyard seeking? I have news for you... let the punks come in and take over, and all of the adults will go elsewhere to spend their money! Kathleen Michelle from Chagrin Falls 1/10/2008 Closing time?? Its sad to see how fast a place can go downhill, SO FAST. We were there over the christmas break and its apparent that the Boneyard is on the way out. The place was dirty. The floors were trash covered and sticky. The carpets were stained and the bathrooms were filthy. The food was cold when it arrived and the portions were much smaller than I remember. Several longtime employees that I looked forward to seeing are no longer employed there. I seriously doubt that the Boneyard can compete with most other nightspots in Cleveland anymore. I know I won't be going back there. One semester away and the place went to crap. So sad that it was obviously mismanaged into a has been. Carl libens from Mentor 1/3/2008 Shame on Ingnorance These people that says jeans are dressing up obviously don‘t know what dressing up is. Look I am in my late 40’s and I brought my son that was 12 (he was wearing jeans) I had on ladies leggings and a blouse. They would not let me in because the security guard that was at least in his mid 20’s told me I was wearing sweat pants. Well, I wasn’t , do you mean to tell me if I brought my mother with me who is in her 80’s and she was wearing a 200.00 out fit from Saks they wouldn’t let her in, come on that is absolutely ridiculous. These teen angers that buy these 200.00 outfits from a store call NEXT OBVISIOLY CAN AFFORD TO GO TO BONEYARD OH WAIT MAYBE IF THEY WALK IN WITH THERE JEANS FALLING DOWN IT WOULD BE BETTER BECAUSE THERE JEANS get real shame on BONEYARD. Lyndhurst 9/26/2007 On The Bone Yard First of all on there dress code, I think its a great idea. Leave the people out that cant dress decent enough for a night out. yes its a bar BUT cmon people if your out with friends trying to have a good time toss on jeans not sweats. I mean how hard is that. For the people that dont like the dress code and complain about it, Guess what WE DONT WANT YOU IN THERE. Just that easy. I lived in Mayfield Hts all my life and its great. Go to Paninis it gives us more time to play more games Mayfield Heights 8/23/2007 Hang up the sweats! My family and I have been to the boneyard several times and not even the kids have ever tried to wear sweats, always jeans. What's the big deal? Leave the sweats at home for the night. As for the service, always great!! Been there with large groups besides the family and service has never been bad. Boneyard staff, you're doing great and keep up the good work. The food has always been fabulous!!!! From appetizers to Apple Perogies, I've never eaten anything bad. Some people are just complainers and they will always go through life being miserable with themselves, but remember that they don't have to rub off on you! Go hang up your sweats & have a good time. Cecelia P. from Mayfield Hts. 7/9/2007 Sweat Pants Hello, My wife & I came to Cleveland to visit friends earlier this year, They took us to the Bone Yard one evening and we thought it was perfect. For the people complaining about the dress code, I think if ya wanna were sweat pants to dinner, then go to mcdonalds. There is nothing wrong about dressing up once in a while to go to a nice restaurant. so stop complaining, no one cares. Rhoe Jaque Swift from La Jolla (CA) 6/19/2007 The Key Spot I took my wonderful Girlfriend to the Boneyard and when we opened the door the celing tiles moved... Hmmm, I though this might be like a scary thing that they made happen or mabye it was just the wind, Lord knows. Anyways we were getting stared at cause we are a interrecial couple and it seems as though alot of people arnt ready to accept that. But the staff was very good, even though we had to wait nearly 5 min to get seated. Also I though the set up of the whole place was super, and the food was really delicious. I would go back in a heartbeat, in fact im considering going right now cause I just cant contain myself from the wonderful service and amazing staff. If I had millions of dollars I would give it all away to the staff at the Boneyard In Mayfield Hts. Plus im about to go check out the games later and eat and drink and all will be key. They have House Of the Dead 4 there and it was "Out of Service" last time I was there so I hope to the good Lord that they got it fixed. Cleveland 3/5/2007 REALLY??? How come these last 3 reviews look like they were written by the owner? Connor Peterson from Mentor 1/30/2007 lots of fun! I just wanted to say that my girlfriend and I have a great time every single time we have gone to the Boneyard. The staff is the best service that we get in Cleveland and we go out to alot of places in the area. So i just want to say thank you very much for making it an outstanding and friendly place to hang out at! kent 1/29/2007 Dress Code I don't have opinion about the bar itself. I was born and grow up in Europe and I have totally different opinion on "dress code" in public places (bars included). In Europe you wearer sweat pants (Adidas or not) to a fitness club or to jogging in the park - that's why they call athletic! I understand that in America we have a different culture and democracy and freedom with clothing as well. But I have the impression, that people here lost something. I am observing this same kind of clothing on people in the bars, parks, making they chores, stores, private parties, theaters - not distinctions what so ever. Seams like Americans forget, that by the way you are dress you are expressing respect, make the "everyday occasion" special. And even show to our children that going out to eat (even as simple as hamburger) means something special to us - also because I dress up differently. Special thank you, from me to Bone Yard for "dress code" policy. Agnieszka from Cleveland 1/29/2007 Dress Code at a BAR!? I, too, have had the same problem as a few others with the Boneyard and thier idiodic dress code. I walked in wearing black addidas striped pants and was greeted at the door by a security guard saying I was not allowed in. I was amazed! The last time I checked, the Boneyard was a bar - a casual place - not a stuffy expensive restaurant. My husband and I just wanted a beer and a burger. And our money is just as good as the "dress up" jean wearer! Needless to say, we were warmly welcomed across the street at Panini's where there is no dress code. This dress code thing should be abolished or they WILL lose business. Mayfield Hts 1/26/2007 Pants Matter? I took my family to the Mayfield Heights Boneyard - dropped them at the door while ZI parked the car. I was denied entry to the restaurant because of my pants. I was wearing a brand new pair black Adidas Athletic pants and sports shirt with jacket. The "shaved head" wierdo at teh door said these were "sweat pants" and therefore I was not allowed in according to the sign next to him. As I was standing in amazement 4-5 people came in with frayed ripped jeans and were not questioned - I asked the goone if they were better dressed and he didn't think so but I was denied entry. Asked for the manger to discuss this but my family was so embarassed we left. Joke of an employee and bad food I have heard - so the draw = grat clothing on the small number of patrons allowed in!! Bill R from Chesterland 1/15/2007 bad choices My son and I were walking up the steps into the boneyard in mayfield hts.around 6:00 on saturday and was approached by a boneyard security guard who was smoking not 30ft. from the outside of the building and told me I was not allowed to wear sweat pants. First of all they were not sweat pants they were leggings. Then he said I can wear jeans. WOW, where does that philosophy come from. Casual wear is casual wear and dress wear is dress wear.So let me get this straight if I was wearing a jean outfit and my son who was lets say who was ten at the time was wearing a sweatoutfit they wouldn't have let us in WOW again. I saw families with small children walking in.No I didn't look at what they were wearing but I am curious now and oh ya, what about the smoking issue........ Lyndhurst 1/6/2007 Mayfield Heights Boneyard We went, spent over 100.00 in food after almost a 1 1/2 hour wait when everyone else was seated before us, even when they came in 45 mins. after we did. Food was boring and dry - hamburgers especially!!! Check was wrong - over charged and manager was RUDE!!! when we had problems with the games and workers on the gaming floor. WILL NOT GO AGAIN - don't usually beg people to take my money. Laura L from Garfield Heights 1/5/2007 small partys stay away I am very angry! On other visits to the boneyard we were always treated with great respect. I knew that trying to get a table for 2 at 6:30pm ment we would have to wait. But on Saturday 9/16 When I asked for a table not a boot to accomidate a special need, I was told "it would be a while" When I ask "what do you mean "a while"" The hostess staff told me they had 3 larger parties and they were more important. MORE IMPORTANT!!!!! I guess my business isn't important enough. mayfield hts 9/17/2006 Post your own review of this venuePlease take a look at our guidelines for help and our disclaimer.
