Sullivan's Irish Pub in Lakewood is an excellent hidden treasure in a sea of bars. Sullivan's is not your typical Lakewood bar. They have a beautiful decor, great menu and ample seating. Sullivan's is a great choice if you just want to hang out with friends in Lakewood and actually hear each other converse.
I've had terrible service on the two times that I and family went to Sullivans, while the beer selection was good it was overpriced and the food was obviously not freshly prepared or prepared with any concern. No regard was given to members of the party in terms of their dietary requirements and the bartender was rude to the all. Two Terrible Experiences that were not addressed by their staff - don't waste your money on sub-par food and poor staff. Cleveland 11/6/2009 Not what was bargained Went there for dinner on St. Patricks Day after reading tons of reviews on how great the food was. The corned beef sandwiches were disappointing. Huge hoagie rolls...barely any meat. Good thing the beer is good or our whole party would have had a horrible dinner. Lakewood 3/18/2009 An Oasis among Pubs I moved from Lakewood 27 years ago, and I was traveling back on business a short time ago. I had 3 work associates with me, and we wanted to try something different than the usually franchised restaurant. I found a review of Sullivan's on line, and realized it was not far from my old neighborhood. We were not disappointed. All of us tried something different on the menu, and it was all a treat to our taste buds. The beer selection was fantastic, and the setting inside was worth the trip. I am looking forward to other trips back home. Richmond, VA 1/30/2008 The Quintessential Irish Pub From the outstanding selection of beers, ales, porters and stouts, to the Irish whiskeys, to the superb cuisine, to the library bookshelf section, to the wood-burning fireplace, to the unfailingly polite and upbeat serving staff, Sullivan's has everything one needs to warm the cockles of one's heart, and in a variety of ways. And, besides, who enjoys cold cockles? As the back of their last St. Patrick's day T-shirt says: "Who's your Paddy?" Who, indeed! Cleveland 4/11/2007 Sullivan's Irish Pub Five Stars! I have only had outstanding food and service at Sullivan's. We have taken out of town relatives (who raved about the place!) and go about once or twice a month as a family to eat dinner. The food is truly unique, freshly prepared, and good. A truly one of a kind Lakewood eatery. I visit Sullivans at least once a month and wonder why it is never more crowded but then that's why I go there. It's a great Irish bar and restaurant that has a beautiful interior and is an excellent place to converse with friends. There is no annoying loud music to shout over and the staff has been fairly good each time I've been there. I had their boxty for dinner and it was fantastic! Highly recommend this establishment if you're looking for a laid back place in Lakewood.
