Sokolowski's is the place to go in Cleveland if you are from Cleveland and even if your are not from Cleveland. You will be treated like family no matter what! It's the best place in town to entertain large groups on a budget. from Cleveland 12/18/2004 comfort food at is finest We been to the University Inn many times for lunch and have always had a good experience so trying the place for dinner on a saturday night beore going to Playhouse Square was a no brainer. Dinner is even better than lunch!!!! although we are used to having a good sit down dinner before the theatre we were very impressed with the selection of both american and Eastern European cuisine. My date and i tasted stuffed cabbage and chicken paprikash reminiscent of what my mom used to make while the couple we were with had "the best steak in quite a long time". All four of us had pierogies that had us wanting more. the food is very very good while the decor of pictures of old cleveland and sports political and local celebrities had us planning our next visit just to see everything on the wall. One dining area has a roaring fireplace while the other had Tom Ballog tickling the ivory's on the piano. We've heard tom many times in other clubs and never tire of his work. The location is very close to Downtown with plenty of free parking and a great view from the bar - which happens to have one of the friendliest bartenders in town. This is a must go to place if your a native or just visiting and want to experience Cleveland's present and past. Rocky River 12/13/2004 Polish Food is Thick! A group of friends and I tried out Sokolwski's University Inn on a Saturday night....Be prepared this is cafeteria style serving in an Eastern European style decorated lodge/inn. The food was great make sure you try the potatoe pancakes. Once you get over the cafeteria style serving it was a great experience especially when a group of old timers started singing "Happy Birthday" in Polish. An excellent example of the diversity in Cleveland. West Side 5/2/2004 Post your own review of this venuePlease take a look at our guidelines for help and our disclaimer.
