Awful Service with Attitudes.

Disregard getting good service at Shinto, it’s even harder to get service to start with at all. I walked out twice with no service even though there only few people at the bar, but there’s no eye-contact from bartender or even a ‘hi, I’ll be right with you.’ Twice with my whole family there for sushi, and I would order food for my son to come out first, but everything else come out first, and the server said that the chef wouldn’t make it first – I don’t know why. I don’t understand why because it’s only an appetizer that my son eats. One of the servers on the second visit with the whole family said the chef was giving him an attitude then he walked away. That’s something I don’t really need to know. No one like managers around for us to let them know. One of the manager, she’s nice, but that’s about it. Service is still awful. We’re not going back there again. Four bad experiences – shame on us!

Never again...

We had reservations for 7:00, when we got there, we were told they were busy and we'd have to wait 20 minutes .. we waited and waited .. at 7:25, we were told 10 more minutes .. at 7:40 .. same thing. At 7:45 the hostess pointed out the table we were waiting for, from the looks of it, we still had a good 30 minute wait. We left. Yes, the place is nice, but not that nice. I expect it's something that happens all the time, as the last time we went there, we had to wait also, just not quite that long. Why even bother with reservations? I won't be going there again. Tomo's is not as fancy, but the food and service are actually better. Tomo's has my vote from now on.

I've got to say, since I went last week I can't wait to go AGAIN. Even my mom who went but didn't want to be there left full and happy she went. Great food, great entertainment.

Awesome Date Destination

Last weekend I took a date to Shinto Japanese Restaurant for dinner. This is an amazing restaurant with a spectacular bar sushi bar and dinning room. My date was very impressed by the fun atmosphere created by not just the servers bartenders and chef but by other diners are well. It's great for a first date since it is not a stuffy and uptight restaurant but still a very classy and elegant experience. We felt so welcomed by everyone and even struck up a conversation with the other diners seated at the same habachi table as us. The best part of the meal was the sake bombs. You can tell that everyone was having a great time. I also loved the vast sushi/sashimi selection offered by the creative sushi chefs. We tried a little of everything...Uni Toro Monk fish Pate Kobe beef Lobster...everything was so fresh and prepared with an artistic flare. I would recomend Shinto highly if you would like impress your guest and show them a great time.'

Shinto Rocks!

Several months ago a local newspaper made mention of Shinto and explained that it was a top of the line Hibachi Restaurant. Being that my fiancé and I love that cuisine and experience we knew we would eventually make it there. For our latest “date night” I decided that we could wait no longer. After our experience we had wished that we didn’t wait as long as we did! The restaurant is big and open with cool lighting and water fountains. There is an awesome bar area that continues into a sushi bar. The hostess servers waiters and bar tenders were all very attentive and polite. It was easy to see that they were all proud of their restaurant. The food matched our highly favorable impressions of the surroundings. Our hibachi chef was a very well skilled in his art. At some other “hibachi” places we were very disappointed in the “show” and even risked injury or a flying egg landing in our laps! Not true with Shinto! The food was cooked with flair and exactly to our liking. I personally enjoyed the large house sake! The menu was large with many items I have never heard of. We’re a bit picky but it is nice to know that we can go back with others that would appreciate the options. All in all the best we have been to. We will make Shinto a frequent stop and let everyone know that Shinto Rocks!

Sukiyaki Sake Bomb!!

Shinto was so much more than I expected-and my expectations are high. I recently took my girlfriend there for our one year anniversary. It was definitely an execellent choice for such an special occasion. My girlfriend whose a super picky eater raved about what a good time we had there from the drinks to the sushi the hibachi show/dinner and the sake bombs! The staff was fun and chefs entertaining. The elegant and sleek decor made us felt like we were in a restaurant that should be located in New York City. We are definitely going back for the half price sushi Tuesdays which I hear rocks! Go to Shinto if you want to impress and enjoy good food and atmosphere.

Shinto in Strongsville is a good bet

This week I was at Shinto with my family celebrating my Dad's birthday. They were surprisingly slow but it was at the beginning of the week. I was very impressed with Shinto's decor. A lot of time and thought obviously went into it. The food was very good for a hibachi and we all over ate as is typical for a hibachi. They treated my Dad to a delcious cake and made us feel very welcome there. Their house sake was a good deal at $6. I would rank Shinto above Tomo for its service and decor.

Great food elegant decor....

Decor is upscale and the food and staff are first rate. This is the type of restaurant you'd expect to see in the Warehouse District or Tremont. So glad to see it here in Strongsville. Have been there many times and each time has been very satisfiying. I highly recommend this wonderful gem in Srongsville.

A downtown restaurant in the suburbs

I spent Saturday night at a downtown restaurant...in Strongsville. Shinto has that cool upscale atmosphere without any pretense. You know you are someplace different as soon as you walk in and see the decor. The California Rolls (Sushi) were outstanding. The Hibatchi chef puts on quite a show flipping shrimp tails up into his hat splitting eggs in the air with a spatula and huge flames on the table during the preparation of the dinner. The Shrimp and Lobster dinner was fantastic. Everyone at the table of eight raved about their food. There were two acoustic guitarists performing that night everything from Beatles to Peter Gabriel to Stone Temple Pilots. Who else does something like that? Bar service was a little slow before we were seated but it was pretty crowded that night. I would still recommend this restaurant.

So amazing!!!

This is the greatest place to be. It is always so much fun expecially on Saturday nights. They have a live band!!! The staff is so nice and always energetic. Bartenders are HOT! This place is worth the trip for sure. You get so much more than just a meal. WARNING: dress to impress everyone looks amazing there.

Can't get enough Shinto's atmosphere!

Classiest staff anywhere compliments the excellent cuisine and sophistocated decor. Once you enjoy an evening at Shinto it will become your favorite place.

Shinto's is a step above the rest.

Shinto's is one of the best restaurants that I have been to in a long long time. The atmosphere is beautiful and the staff is vibrant and lively. You could spend a whole night here and leave anticipating your next return. Then there's the food what can I say..... it's not only some of the best food that I have ever eaten but it's also entertaining to watch being cooked. I highly recommend coming here at least once and I sure after that you won't be able to get enough.
