Melt in Lakewood for brunch

I am a fan of Melt's delicious sandwiches for dinner, but hadn't tried brunch there yet. I went this morning and I left stuffed as usual and very satisfied. Their brunch menu is about as creative as their sandwich menu. They've got several omlette choices - I went with the Spicy Cheesy Omlette - and a lot of delicious waffles. Most of the waffles are named after candy bars like the Snickers and Oreo versions. They open at 10am Sunday and I recommend getting there ASAP. If you've waited in the ridiculous lines for dinner, you know what I mean. The service this morning was clearly better than the slow and unfriendly service I've experienced in the evening. I will definitely return for brunch again soon.

Not Worth the 3 Hr wait

Can't believe we waited 3 hours for a sandwich. Was told it would be 1 1/2 hours which is crazy, but there was a bar. Then they skipped over our name on the waiting list - no apologies. Claimed they couldn't find us even though we never left. Took an additional 1/2 hr to get a table, then 1 hour to get the sandwiches. Crazy. ps skip the Hungry Hungarian if you do go. Very dry.

Love it!!

My friend & I have tried almost every sandwich on the menu and have not been dissappointed yet. We look forward to each each month's special with great anticpation. The beer seclection is almost mind boggling. Can get crowded very quickly so be prepared to have a leisurely meal. Ever changing local art is an extra added bonus!!

YUMMERS!

This place has awesome food and the beer selection? Yowzers! Any place that has Arrogant Bastard on draft is A-OK with me. I have had grilled cheese and the burgers there and I was very pleased with both.I didn't have a problem with waiting to get in; and if you don't want to wait so long for a freakin' grilled cheese, then here's a hint: move on and move out. I am not certain if I had to wait long or not for my food, because I was actually enjoying the Cartoon NEtwork and the dizzying array of beer. Anyhow, at least the food was piping hot when it arrived. I'd rather wait for hot food then be served room temp food pronto. But yeah, everytime I have been there (except one of the tmes, being the exception)the waitresses and bartenders have been LameOsVille. Like, they want to be all cool and quirky but we all know they were the Last Picks in gym class. Stop trying so hard and just serve the darn food. Yo, I give this joint 2 thumbs up. Oh yeah, the beer bottle art? Brilliant.

What's all the fuss about?

I have gone to Melt twice now, hoping the service would be better the second time around....it wasn't. The wait staff seemed to care more about having fun with each other then waiting on their customers. The wait was waaaaaay too long for a grilled cheese. Then once we finally did sit down, we waited 45 additional minutes for our food! The waitress never checked back to see how we were, nor apologzied for the wait. The atmosphere itself can only be described as "confusing" in my opinion. Between the cartoon network on ALL TV's, to the head banging music. I didn't know what to think. When going, expect more of a bar atmosphere then a restaurant. Maybe that was where we went wrong. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this restaurant...err... I mean ummm..bar...
