HOB Rocks

HOB rocks. The atmosphere, decor, dining venues, and even the staff reflect that hard-to-describe edginess needed for a kick @$$ music venue. If you haven't been invited to the Foundation Room (VIP lounge & restaurant), find a way to make it happen! I've been to HOB countless times and am rarely disappointed. As for the other posts about overcrowded, I've been to numerous sold out gigs and I could always find a place to enjoy the show where I could see the bands/DJs/artists. Being in a crowd is part of the experience and always part of seeing great artists at a cool venue. (I saw the Killers @ CSU, where almost every seat had a great view of the stage, but the crowd was so dispersed and not collectively rockin it out...the accoustics @ CSU leave something to be desired as well.) Rock on HOB!!

House Of Blues Disaster

My experience at the HOB was NOT a good time. HOB WAY oversold the show, but the Cleveland authorities look the other way, (tax $$). How can you see a show when the place is so crowded there is a WALL of people as soon as you reach the entrance? How can this be safe? I could not see the show, people were pushing and fighting just for a place to STAND. What a mess......

All around a GREAT place

Where else are you able to go have dinner and catch a great live show at the same place? Their entire menu is made from scratch and has that down south southern home cookin' feel. If you dont like calories and a lot of spice, it may not be for you, stick with what you know youll like. Ive seen many shows there, some sold out, some not so sold out, ive stood in a majority of the areas in this venue and you always feel close to the act. im extremely glad this venue is in the area. im not sure what the other two reviewers are talking about with over crowding/no place to stand/and pushing...maybe it was the type of show they were at?

House Of Blues An Over Crowded Mess

I went to The House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio as well. I must agree with the review that states this facility is NO place to see a concert and the night I was there the place was so oversold that people were crushing each other up against walls and fighting just for a place to stand. Greedy, packem in HOB should be closed for safety reasons. Overpriced drinks and you can't even see the show and have to fight for a place to stand. NOT FOR ME HOB.... KEEP IT...

Not the best venue

House of Blues could be a great place to see a live concert, but it isn't. It has a cool decor, ok sound and a great balcony but thats where the good news ends. These things don't make a live music experience, nor does food. The bad news: They consistantly oversell shows to the point where half of the people can't even see the stage. I don't understand why everybody likes this place if you can't experience the music. If they would sell half as many tickets it would be a much better venue to enjoy live music, but far from perfect. There are always empty "reserved" seats in the balcony that you can't sit in or one of their geriatric ushers will make you move. Their drinks are priced so high it's a joke, while the beer selection sucks worse than a dorm fridge. Note the other reviewer here talking about getting to go in early because they had dinner there too? That is soooo wrong. I am interested in music, not food when I attend a live concert. If I want a good seat I'll show up early but don't make me eat there too. This place just wants your money. I have seen 4 shows there and the only reason I went the last time was because I got free tickets. I will never go to the HOB again, it's overpriced but even for free it still sucked with the overcrowding. Try visiting the Beachland Ballroom, Nautica Stage or the Agora Theater if you want to experience what live music is all about, because it's not about corporate greed like the HOB is.

The coolest place in cleveland

I just recently went to the House Of Blues for the first time and loved it. The restaurant is covered in the coolest art and decor the food was awsome and because I ate before the concert I got to go in before everyone else. The concert was slipknot it was the best sound and light show I had ever seen. Any one looking for a fun night out in a cool atmisphere should head on down the the House Of Blues.

Rock'n'Roll at The House

My first time at The House was on New Years. Their New Years dinner is amazing and you can't beat the concert afterward. Guess who's going back!

One of Cleeveland's best

I attended the House of Blues recently & really enjoyed it! The show was good (Tequilla Sunrise) the employees were very nice decor awesome. I found the drink prices to be about normal for the downtown area.My only regret is that I didn't have dinner BUT I will certainly go back to try the food! I recommend that everyone checks this place out!

Ain't so Blue...

I attended an event at House Of Blues awhile back and was truly impressed with the decor and the appetizers were wonderful! Although I did hear later on that the event beer and wine prices were marked up for the event but not in the dining room for regular guests- that sounds like they don't quite have all the kinks worked out- I'd go back for the atmosphere if nothing else...
