Great Place!!! My boyfriend and I were in town for a couple nights and we love mexican so we decided to give El Jalapeno a try. We loved it!! Great service, food, and atmosphere. Anonymous 4/24/2008 Simply authentic Just moved here from Cuernavaca México and when I went to this place I saw on the menu "tacos al pastor" OMG I just found the perfect place to feel less homesick and believe me, I've been on many "Mexican" places around but these people are simply the best of the best, no BS, just authenticity all around the place and before I forget, try the Michelada there, it's like the ones I used to drink back home! Cleveland 3/14/2008 El Jalapenos Our first visit and we loved it. Very clean and bright. Server was friendly and attentive. I can hardly wait to return. The Super Burro was big enough for 2 and delicious. We also split the Nachos Supremos. Next visit the Mole Poblano for sure. Cleveland 3/5/2008 Excellent! We had an awesome experience the first time there, great food, nice service, and very fast!! They refilled the chips whenever we were out. We went back two times and both times were just as good! I don't know if that other diner hit a bad night, but as a waitress at another restaurant, I know that most restaurants don't take more than one coupon per table! I would recommend this as a family restaurant! Lakewood 2/16/2008 El Jalapenos The food was good, but on person in our party got a chicken/bean buritto and only got a few peices of chicken. The service was less than adequate. Our waiter completely forgot my son when doing drink orders. He came to take our order and left suddenly to help another group. I heard him say he would be back, but the rest of the party wondered where he went all of the sudden. I would think he should have taken our order first and then helped the other group. Though we told him to do seperate checks, he did one check with two totals. After my friend paid for her food and used a coupon, they hassled us for using a coupon. They said it was only one per table, though it says it no where on the coupon. They eventually let us use it. We will not be coming back to this restaurant. The service was not very good and I want to be able to use my coupon without being hassled. If the coupon disclosed all of their rules, I wouldn't have questioned it. Plus all of the other local mexican resturants we have been to, it hasn't been a problem. Cleveland 2/4/2008 WONDERFUL!!! It has been a WONDERFUL experience at El Jalapeno!!! GREAT JOB GUYS !!!!! Lakewood 11/28/2007 El Jalapeno Outstanding food, service and margaritas at this new W.117th St. Mexican restaurant. The mole poblano was the best I have ever had. The salsa is one of the best in town with just the right amount of heat. If you want it hotter order some diablo (very hot) sauce on the side as it will take care of your hotter needs. The charro beans are really superbly spiced with chorizo and other meat. They post nightly specials on a board as you enter usually including some margarita special. This will give other Mexican restaurants in town a run for their money for sure.
