The Beer Engine in Lakewood has an amazing burger menu. They've got the basics and also some crazy burgers like the Fatty Melt. And of course they've got a killer beer selection. The place gets packed at night, so get there early or be ready to stand by the bar. In these times when literally everybody is scrapping for your attention (and your dollar) you've got to step it up a notch! Go out to Fathead's and see how they do it right - great food, beer and enthusiastic service - the Cleveland trifecta!! parma 12/23/2009 Beer Engine I agree the food can be pretty good if you don't mind paying $9 for a burger and the beer is good but why is the service not only incredibly slow, but the servers anything but warm and friendly, almost like you are a bother? I won't go back for that reason. Atmosphere is pretty much as important as food since getting out is a treat. Lakewood 11/3/2007 Beer Engine needs a service tuneup! I've been to the Beer Engine in Lakewood at least 6 times since it opened. Each and every time I go, the service is non existent. It hasn't mattered if I'm sitting outside on their patio, inside at a table or at the bar. They take far too long to notice you, make little attempt at making you feel welcome and create a cold feeling about the place. The beer selection is great and the food is pretty good, but without the service, it's going to be awhile until I return. I can go down the street to the Winking Lizard and get treated with the attention a paying patron deserves! Cleveland 9/3/2007 A MUST! excellent lunch... wonderful beer!
