100th Bomb Group Restaurant

The 100th Bomb Group Restaurant is across from Cleveland Hopkins Airport on Cleveland's west side. They are a chain restaurant that mimics a war torn building with relics and memorabillia from World War eras. The 100th Bomb Group Restaurant reopened in 2005 after relocating down the street from their original location to make way for the expansion at the Cleveland Airport.

I didn't need the additude, Just a decent meal...

We were very disappointed with our experience this evening at the 100th Bomb Group. We decided to go there after an afternoon at the Auto Show. Hostess seated us at a table that was so wobbly it was making my wife seasick. Asked waitress to move us. Waitress had a hard time hiding her impatience with this request, nonetheless we were moved to another table. After drinks, I ordered the Parmesan Crusted Chicken and my wife ordered the Portabella Mushroom. We both ordered a cup of French Onion Soup which was clearly listed as a $2.95 add-on to each of our meals. The soup was good as was the bread which was served to us. Our meals arrived in a timely manor but my wife's mushroom was stone cold. She wasn't exactly sure if maybe it was supposed to be served cold so she questioned the waitress. Turns out it is supposed to be warm. Waitress again seemed like she was totally annoyed with us for merely wanting a decent dining experience. Kitchen staff brings out another mushroom which was cooked correctly. All-in-all the main courses were good. When we received our bill we thought we had been charged for 2 bowls of soup instead of 2 cups of soup because the charge printed on the check was more than the $2.95 listed on the menu. Once again (and reluctantly), we had to call the waitress over to question the charge for the two soups. Waitress tells us that the new menus had a miss-print and SHOULD have said that French Onion Soup was $3.95 instead of $2.95. In what way was this was our fault and why should we have to pay more than stated on the menu? Not wanting a scene, we just paid with the credit card but the waitress was not quite done with us yet. When she brought the paid bill back to sign she brought the menu prices up again. Not as any kind of apology, but more as a confrontation. My wife and I looked at each other with total astonishment that was not lost on the waitress. We had had enough and just wanted to get out of there. Then the waitress pulls two one dollar bills out of her tip folder and sets them down on the table further making a scene, to which I finally spoke up and told her that those bills will rot on that table before I take them. As I sit here typing this I still can't believe this happened and even more so where it happened. Behavior like this at say, Applebees or TGIFridays would not surprise me all that much but 100th Bomb Group? Maybe because we had come from the Auto Show and were not dressed to the nines we were not worthy of a good experience? I don't know. But I do know that we won't be back. Ever...

fabulous

We had my son's rehearsal dinner there almost a year ago. People are still raving about it. Management was so accomodating even though it was a busy night for the restaurant. Food and service were excellent and the view of the patio and airport lights from our area was another plus. Some guests finished out the evening at the bar on the rooftop.

Excellent

I took a date there for lunch and it was fantastic. She had an appetizer and I had soup and a sandwich, everything was delicious. The service was great, too. The cost was extremely reasonable for lunch, I highly recommend it.

100th was Wonderful

We were at the 100th a few weeks ago. The experience was wonderful. We had a waitress that new about the history of the 100th and she was able to answer all our questions. One of our group order the Scallop special and it was fantastic, all the food was great. We can't wait to go back again and we recommend it to all.

Wonderful

The 43rd class reunion for John Marshall High School was held at the 100th Bomb Group Restaurant today. The experience was wonderful and our group has already decided to hold our annual event at the same venue next year. The food was superb and the service was perfect.

EXCELLENT GLAD I WENT

I almost didn't go to the 100th Bomb Group Restaurant because of all the poor reviews. Sure glad I went to judge for myself. There was 4 in our party. Great service ,never once did we have to want for anything. We started with the Crab Stuffed Mushroom and French Onion Soup both above average. Caesar Salad and Garden Salad both very fresh crispy. I had the Homemade Pot Roast and it was just excellent tender hot and great flavor. My friend had the Cold Water Australian Lobster Tail and said it was super. The men in our group had steaks ,Prime Rib and Filet Mignon. Both steak dinner were just to their liking. Everything was presented well and our glasses were never empty. Our table was by one of the many windows that faces the airport. It was very enjoyable to sit there and watch the planes take off. The bar had a wonderful lady playing the piano which we also enjoyed. I would highly recommend the 100th Bomb Group Restaurant. But please go judge for yourself I'm sure glad I did.

Awful

My husband I went there for dinner on Friday evening. Because of the weather, there weren't many guests in the dining room. Service was absolutely awful. The food was ice cold, at one point, I went to the bar and asked the bartender to refill my drink. I had the Seafood Collage and my husband had the Eggplant parmesean. Both entrees were luke warm at best. My food was nauseating. His food was undercooked. I am so sad that the 100th Bomb Group is not longer the classy, elegant restaurant it once was. Like another reviewer said, it's run by high schoolers and ex-cons and they're right. I've had better service and unfortunately better food at TGI Fridays. How sad.

I'll Take Lousy Eateries for $1000 Alex.

Its a shame, this is not the old Bombers that you went to years ago. Now you have disorganized managers who cant even get a simple party reservation correct, the rudest wait staff in Cleveland, overpriced food that was inedible and the slowest service that i can ever remember receiving. I am not sure what type of math Citysearch uses but when i took the 3 reviews @ 5 star (obviously doesn't eat out much) 2 star and 2 star reviews and average them i come up with a 3 star average and not a 4 star. But then again that might be me just using old fashion math. I booked a surprise birthday party for my wife and when we arrived the hostess couldn't find my reservation even though the entire party is in the lounge waiting. Finally i had to say to her "Oh there it is" and point to it on the reservation sheet. She then responds to us, " Oh, they are in the lounge go right in." Gee, thanks for ruining the surprise and don' you think you should have at least walked us to the lounge? Although annoying, that doesn't really have much to do with the inedible food. There were 6 guests who ordered full course meals. Out of the six, each one was unable to complete the extremely overpriced main course. The appetizers .. Calamari which was rubbery and can be found at your local supermarket in the frozen fish isle. Chicken BBQ rolls were actually ok, although they lacked any originality, they weren't that bad. You cant really mess up Friday's frozen Artichoke dip so that was tasty. I had read a review that said they had eaten better meals at Arthur Treatchers and i would agree completely. OH and one more thing. If you have a small intimate birthday party, DO not bring a cake because when you do receive your insultingly high bill, it will also have a cake cutting charge of $1.00 a slice. The lounge is very nice and the atmosphere is fantastic. Its just too bad that the staff of high schoolers and ex-cons work there.

Not what it could be

Food was a 7 out of 10. Service was a 7 out of 10. The venue is very nice with great views of the airport. However, the staff just isn't of the same caliber of other restaurants in it's price range. I get the feeling that there are not enough staffers for the size of the place.

sadly dissapointed

5 of us ladies had lunch there on 8/04/07. I had better fish & chips at Arthur Treachers !!!!! Everyone must have been having a bad day there, no smiles, was an uncomfortable time. We all decided to stay....hoping it would get better, sorry to say ...it did not. No more Bomb Squad for this group !!!!

Great space but...

Terrific space, with interesting views and ample parking. That's the positive. Dinner menu was mediocre at best and wine selections were sub par. With all of the really good indi restaurants in the Greater Cleveland area, I cannot thing of a single reason ever to return here. The franchise that owns Bombers has destroyed it in my view.

Very nice!

I went with my husband on a Friday night and spent the evening on the roof top patio. There are 3 lovely fire pits that you can eat and drink around. Like other reviewers have said, the people watching is great. The view of the planes is really nice, too. The only disappointment was the menu specifically for the patio. There were only a few appetizers and I was kind of disappointed with the selections.

Our new local bar

Great happy hour. Nice free buffet. We go for a few drinks and free buffet, but usually end up ordering dinner in the bar area! The bread basket is delicious, especially the pesto spread. The people watching during the week is priceless. Convention types and business folk. So far, the service and entrees keep getting better. Hang out by the fireplace and relax. Your table is safe. The view is always good, and the food will not disappoint.

A Great Time

Our first experiece at the New Bomb Squad Restaurant was overwelming! The atmosphere was beautiful. It made for such a pleasant experiece with our friends. The food was great and the service was attentive. Enjoying after drinks upstairs and watching the aiport was nice. Since then, we have been there many times, and still walk away with a good experience. Thank you for bringing another great restaurant to the Cleveland Area!

Happy Days are GONE

We were VERY disappointed in the new bomb---it has lost alot of the charm, we miss the outdoor area off of the bar the way it used to be. We miss the fun of a having a nice dinner and then a place to dance afterward.....it was just such a "Bomber" for us and our out of town guests.

Is it as good as the hype???

Well the bomber is open again and I have to say that the experience was very good. For starters the salads were great as was the hot spinach artichoke dip with multi-colored bread. Beer and cheese soup was so-so. The strip steak was prepared perfect and the seafood was geat also. With the dinners the side dishes were excellent. Desert tray will make your mouth water. After dinner I suggest going up to the outdoor rooftop bar/patio. With fireplaces portable heaters and a full service bar with complete full service menu along with the backdrop of the airpoer complete with landings and takeoffs it makes for a great evening. Allitle pricey but worth it every once and a while. Grade A!!!
